Canoabo, Carabobo State, 6-3-1926
1932-1940: begins his musical studies with his father Pablo Castellanos Almenar.
1940: enters into the Music and Declamation School where he studies
composition with Vicente Emilio Sojo and sacred music with Juan
Bautista Plaza.
1946-48: works as a music theory teacher at the Juan Manuel Olivares
Music School, as an organist and chapel master at the parochial church
of San José, Caracas, and as choir conductor for several
educational institutions.
1947: he graduates as Master Composer with his Caracas Symphonic Suite (Suite Sinfónica caraqueña).
1948-52: he works as music teacher for the Teachers Training College Miguel Antonio Caro.
1952: he attended an intensive orchestra conduction course with Sergiu Celibidache.
1953: he joins the Symphonic Orchestra of Venezuela as a piano, celesta and percussion substitute performer.
1955-59: he conducts the Choir at the Night High-School Juan Vicente González.
1956-59: he conducts the Simón Bolivar Choir for the Military School of Venezuela.
1958-59: he takes charge as the National Radio of Venezuela director.
1959-60: he attends a Chamber Music Course at the Frederich Wilhem Music School in Bonn, at the time West Germany.
1960-61: he does an Instrumentation and Orchestration Perfection Course with the Schola Cantorum in Paris, France.
1963: he ends an Orchestra Conduction Course with Sergiu Celibidache,
and a Composition and Analysis Course with Victor Frazzi at the Siena
Chigiana Academy.
1963-68: takes charge of the Juan Manuel Olivares Music School direction.
1964-72: conducts the Andrés Bello Catholic University Choir.
1964-76: takes charge of the Collegium Musicum direction.
1965-66: is advisor to the Music Department of the National Institute of Culture and Fine Arts (CONAC).
1966-78: becomes regular conductor to the Symphonic Orchestra of Venezuela.
1968-72: he founds and conducts the Caracas Philharmonic Choir.
In 1976, he directs the choir and orchestra of the Vicente Emilio Sojo Association.
In 1978 manages the Ave Association.
In 1980 he is orchestral class conduction professor at the Simón Bolívar Music Conservatory.
1989-1991 he is artistic and musical director for the Venezuelan Coral Anthology.
